In the 1920s, Glendale, California was a growing city with a booming economy thanks to the development of the entertainment industry and the rise of automobile culture.
The city had a vibrant downtown area with shops, restaurants, and theaters, and the surrounding neighborhoods were filled with bungalows and large homes. It was a lively and prosperous time in Glendale's history.

In the 1920s, Highland Park was known for its picturesque homes and tree-lined streets, as well as its lively commercial district with shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
The Highland Theater was built in 1925 and was originally known as the Mayan Theater, named for its Mayan-inspired architecture.
Local residents used Pacific Electric Railway (also known as the "Red Cars"). making it easy to travel to other parts of the city.
La Crescenta in the 1920's
In the 1920s, La Crescenta was a small, rural community known for its natural beauty and was a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering hiking, fishing, and camping opportunities.
The community was largely agricultural, with many residents working in the citrus and grape industries.
The community remained relatively isolated and sparsely populated throughout the 1920s, but it would later experience a period of growth and suburbanization in the post-World War II era.
Pasadena

In the 1920s, the city of Pasadena experienced a lot of growth and construction, especially in the downtown area along Colorado Street.
This included the building of new civic institutions such as the city hall, public library, and civic auditorium, all carefully designed to form a cohesive center.
Additionally, the decade saw the continuation of the annual Rose Parade and the construction of the Rose Bowl stadium, which opened in 1922.
